quick n dirty collaborations
Sundays in Salt Lake City
Practice dance collaboration in short bursts (like flash frying an eggplant on high heat).
One choreographer works collaboratively with a new group of dancers for one afternoon of intensive experimentation. Choreographers rotate weekly.
The process is followed by an informal showing, discussion, and social time.
FLASH FRY is part of Hannah Fischer’s research in new dance processes with un-attempted approaches. Approximately 10 Salt Lake City choreographers are participating and there are slots of dancers to participate! “As a maker, I'm interested in diving deep quickly, and asking the following questions: how do I prepare, how do I synthesize quickly, how do I work with new people, how attached will I be to the process and the showing?” There is no money exchanged in this process, no rental agreements, no tickets, no budget (except some dancer snacksssss) because it is focused on process and connection.
1:30 - 3:30 & 4:00 - 6:00 Rehearsal
